How to Setup a More Productive Editor Layout in Unity
By default the Unity layout isn’t setup to be the most productive.

Switching between the Scene and Game view can get old real fast. I prefer to be able to see both at once on a large portion of my screen.
This is how I setup my layout…
Start by Clicking Default in the upper right corner and change it to Tall.

Now click and drag the Game view below the scene view and release. Then stretch it up to the center of the screen.

Now I resize the other panels a little bit.

One last setting, to be able to view a list instead of just a few items at once in your Project view… Click the three dots in the upper right of the Project panel and change it to One Column Layout.

And finally, click the dropdown in the upper right again and save your layout so you can easily switch back to it if you need to.

And here’s what it should look like when you’re finished…
